Breast Augmentation Plastic Surgery

Breast augmentation is usually done to enhance the size or shape of breasts or to balance a
difference in breast size. The procedure is performed by inserting a breast implant behind
breast tissue or above the breast muscle.
Implants come in a variety of shapes and sizes, with
varying designs, in a range of materials. They can be placed in different
positions through a
variety of
incision locations The goal is to leave your breasts looking as natural as possible,
while enlarging them to your desired size.

The surgeon may recommend that a breast lift and breast augmentation be performed at
the same time. This is most commonly recommended to treat the sagging appearance that
results from aging or pregnancy. During this combined procedure, some breast tissue is
removed, the breast skin is tightened and lifted, and an implant is inserted.

Incisions are made to
keep scars as inconspicuous as
possible, under the
breast, around the
nipple, or in the armpit.
Breast tissue and skin is lifted to create a pocket
for each implant.
The breast implant may be inserted directly under the breast tissue, partially or completely beneath the pectoral muscle.

After surgery, breasts appear fuller and more natural in tone and contour. Scars will fade with time.

Benefits of breast enlargement

Breast enlargement is a very popular procedure that can be extremely satisfying. It is a
permanent improvement to breast shape and size, commonly chosen in women who are
not satisfied with the development of their breasts, or in the case of trauma, disease or
post-pregnancy loss.

Generally, most patients benefit by having major boosts in their self-confidence, and femininity.

Best candidates for breast enlargement

The best candidates for breast surgery are women who are emotionally well-adjusted
and who have a thorough understanding of the procedure. They are in good health,
have a history of physical activity, and eat a healthy diet. Breast surgery is a good
choice to enhance a figure, but not to completely change it. Understanding the procedure
will help you form realistic expectations.

Preparation for breast enlargement

Before you undergo breast enlargement, it is important for you to discuss any medical
conditions that you have and to tell your surgeon about any medications that you are
you can have breast enlargement, discuss the procedure thoroughly with him or her
before deciding if you want to go through with the procedure. Even though your surgeon
says that you may does not mean that you must decide to have breast enlargement.
You may still change your mind even after discussing the procedure with your surgeon.

The surgeon will consult with you either by email or on the phone prior to your departure
to understand your requests fully, and will also detail the procedure, benefits and risks and
answer any questions you have. He may require additional information from you before
booking the procedure - including a photo, and a doctor's medical report. The assessment
with the surgeon will give you a detailed understanding of the treatment - the extent of
surgery, your health evaluation, your expectations and exactly what kind of implants is
suitable for you. When you are happy with what has been discussed, and have signed a
booking form for the operation, the surgery will be booked at a date agreed.

Your surgeon should be able to answer any questions that you have about breast enlargements
including questions about what to expect during and after a breast enlargement and the
complications or problems that sometimes occur with breast enlargements. You may also
take information from this website to your appointment to discuss with him.

You will then have another consultation with the surgeon when you arrive in Malaysia,
where he will have a physical evaluation of the areas to be treated. At this appointment,
you and your surgeon will discuss your goals, and last queries you have and finalize the
plan for surgery. During this consultation, the surgeon will also discuss the size and shape
you are looking for, implant placement, and your feelings about the procedure. Your anatomy
plays a major role in these decisions. The surgeon will talk with you about the options for
surgery - depending on your current measurements, your body frame, and your expectations.

Surgical procedure

The operation is carried out under general anesthetic, and requires an overnight stay.
Where the implants are placed depends on your preferences and the surgeon's recommendations.
Our surgeons usually place implants beneath the breast tissue; but implants can be placed
in front of, or behind, the pectoral muscle. Each position has its own advantages, which the
surgeon will discuss thoroughly during your consultation. For your benefit, we shall describe
the different incisions and implant placements in brief:

The 4 different incisions:

  • Under the breast (inframammary incision)
  • Around the nipple (peri-areolar incision)
  • In the arm pit (transaxillary incision)
  • In the navel area (trans-umbilical or TUBA incision)

The 3 positions for implant placement:

  • Above the pectoral muscles (sub-glandular)
  • Partially behind the muscles (partial sub-muscular)
  • Completely behind the muscles (complete sub-muscular)

Incisions

Under the breast (inframammary incision)

The inframammary incision is placed in the proximity of the crease where the breast and chest
come together. This crease is called the inframammary fold.

To perform the inframammary incision, the surgeon selects the optimum location to place the
incision—under the breast and close to the inframammary fold. The surgeon makes the incision
and creates a pocket in which to place the breast implant.
The implant is slid upward through the incision, then centered behind the nipple.

The incision is located to secure proper placement of the implant, but also to reduce scar visibility.
Scarring from properly located inframammary incisions should be easily hidden under a swimsuit top.
The advantages of this incision type is that implants may be placed in all three locations - above,
partially behind or completely behind the pectoral muscle.

Around the nipple (peri-areolar incision)

To perform the peri-areolar incision, the surgeon makes an incision at the edge of the areola. The
goal of the incision is to place it in the transition area between the dark areola and surrounding
breast skin where it can be hidden.

After the incision, the surgeon creates a pocket for the breast implant and then slides the implant
through the incision into the breast pocket. Once inserted, the implant is then centered behind the nipple.

One possible advantage of the peri-areola surgery is that there may be no visible scar, because of
the color and texture characteristics of the areola border. In some cases, a scar may be visible.
Another advantage, as with the inframammary incision, this incision allows the implant to be
placed in precise pocket formation and provides for absolute controlled bleeding.

In the arm pit (transaxillary incision)

The transaxillary incision is made in the natural folds of the armpit tissue, then a channel is
created up to the breast. This procedure is sometimes performed with an endoscope, or a small
tube with a surgical light and camera embedded in the end, to provide visibility through the
channel. The implant is inserted and moved through the channel, then positioned and centered
behind the nipple.

The biggest advantage of this incision type is that the scar is not at the breast, and can
accommodate all three types of implant placement.

In the navel area (trans-umbilical or TUBA incision)

The TUBA incision is made on the rim of the navel. A tunnel is then made under the skin
through the subcutaneous fat layer. An endoscope can be used to create the tunnel and to
provide visibility to the surgeon. An endoscope is a thin tube with a camera and surgical
light embedded on the end. The tunnel reaches all the way behind the breast into the layer
of loose tissue between the breast and pectoral muscles. After a pocket is created in the breast,
the implant is inserted through the incision and moved up into the breast area. The implant
is then centered behind the nipple.
Like the transaxillary incision, the TUBA incision does not leave any scars on the breast; and
supports all three implant placement positions.

Implant Placement Positions

Above the pectoral muscles (sub-glandular)
This position places the implant behind the breast, but in front of the muscles and tissues that
line the front of the ribs and chest wall. The fatty tissue in the breast is what gives the breast
a soft consistency. This tissue extends throughout the breasts, surrounding the glands and fibrous tissues.

Partially behind the muscles (partial sub-muscular)
In partial sub-muscular implant placement, the implant is placed behind the breast tissue and
partially under the pectoral and other chest muscles. During the procedure, the lowest part of
the Pectoralis Major muscle is cut so that the upper part of the implant sits deeply beneath the
muscle, but the lower part sits beneath the breast (subglandular).

Completely behind the muscles (complete sub-muscular)
In full sub-muscular implant placement, the implant is placed completely under the pectoral
muscles. Some surgeons believe that this position reduces the potential of capsular contracture,
and may also interfere less with breast examination by mammogram than if the implant is
placed directly behind the breast tissue. Placement behind the muscle however, may be more
painful for a few days after surgery than placement directly under the breast tissue.

Breast implants

1. Silicone

The most popular implants are silicone, which have been successfully used in many types of implants
for many decades. The advantage of silicone is that they feel more natural, and have a lower tendency to ripple.
Fears that people had about silicone leading to breast cancer and connective diseases has been disproved.
Silicone has developed a great deal to be completely safe, and The European Committee on Quality
Assurance and Medical Devices in Plastic Surgery (EQUAM) published the research results and stated
that there is no proof that silicone implants cause any diseases. In fact, women get more silicone from
their lipstick or daily beauty creams than their breast implants.

2. Saline

Saline implants comprise of weak salt solution similar to body fluids. The advantage is that they can fit
through a smaller incision, but the disadvantage is - because they are made of water - they can ripple
and feel 'squishy'.

Shape and size

There are different types of implant - varying in shape and consistency. They can be rounded
in shape or anatomical/tear-drop shape. The silicone can be softer or firmer according to your
requirements. The surgeon will assess you and guide you as to which one is best for your requirements.

Recovery and Post-op care

How bruised, sore, and swollen your breasts are after surgery, depends on individual. You can
expect to wear a surgical bra for several days, or until swelling has subsided. Rather than being
a sharp pain, it is more like a dull ache. Your surgeon will prescribe a pain reliever or creams
if necessary - however, do not take aspirin for 2 weeks after surgery as it can increase the risk
of bleeding.

After about 2 days, the discomfort will subside, however the recovery time varies from person
to person. The nursing team will observe you and be on call if you have any concerns and to
make sure you are recovering well.

Ensure you drink plenty of fluids, and eat nourishing foods, which is part of the Gorgeous
Getaways health program.

Heavy lifting or straining should be avoided after surgery for at least a month because this
can cause the breasts to swell and increase pressure. You can typically return to work within
a week and to full activity within a few weeks. Sensation in your nipples may be reduced
temporarily, but should return to normal as your breasts heal.

We provide excellent post-care support, with follow-up visits and programs to assist your
recovery. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know and we will schedule an
appointment with the surgeon.

Recommended length of stay on holiday

10 days.

Other recommended procedures with a breast enlargement

Many people who travel to Malaysia have more than one procedure because of the cost
advantages and also for a more balanced look.
Face treatments - the popular facelift,
or eye lift - are popular with breast enlargements to freshen the face.
Liposuction to the
lower body is also very popular to give an overall better shape.

The "Ultimate Makeover" includes liposuction with a choice of other surgical and non-surgical
procedures.
Enquire for more information.

Your new look

Most people who undergo breast enlargement are thrilled with the results, making them feel
more womanly, sexier and confident. As long as you remain realistic about the results, you
will be pleased with the outcome.

Breast enlargement is permanent, however, breast size and shape will change during the
normal stages of life - pregnancy, weight loss and gain and aging.

Preconditions and Risks

We minimize risks and complications by selecting patients carefully and always having the most
skilled surgeons, physicians and nurses carry out procedures. However, despite the highest
standards, complications can occur. They are rare, and most patients will not have complications,
but if you have concerns about possible complications, please discuss these with your doctor.

Please read the preconditions and risks page before embarking on any surgery. Please read the
following list of possible complications/risks:

Infection

If infection occurs, it is usually within days or weeks of surgery. Though rare, infection can occur
long after breast surgery when the incisions are completely healed. In rare cases, the implant
is removed until the infection subsides, then replaced at a later date.

Nipple Sensitivity and Numbness

Some women report that their nipples become oversensitive, undersensitive, or even numb.
You may also notice small patches of numbness near your incisions. These symptoms usually
disappear within time, but may be permanent in some patients.

Bottoming Out

Bottoming out is a complication when the implant rides too low in the breast tissue and may
cause the nipple to point upwards. Correction for bottoming out may be accomplished by re-entering
the breast and re-creating the pocket.

Symmastia

Symmastia produces the appearance of breasts being too close to each other. To correct symmastia,
a surgical procedure may be required. Larger implants may be exchanged for smaller implants.
After corrective surgery, a special support bra and other supportive bandages may be needed to
provide the necessary cleavage support while the tissues heal.

Capsular Contraction

The body's natural healing process creates a capsule around the breast implant, just as it would
any other foreign object. Capsular formation is normal and also occurs with other types of implant
surgery including placement of pacemakers, artificial bones, or joints. In some cases, however,
the capsule closes or contracts around the implant. This closure is called capsular contraction.
Capsular contraction can occur at anytime after surgery—when it does occur, it is typically
within a few months. Capsular contraction, however, is not common.

Capsular contraction compresses the implant, causing the implant to look distorted. In the most
advanced cases, the implant can feel hard and misshapen. The implant has not changed or hardened,
but the capsule squeezing the implant has caused it to feel hard.
Treatment for capsular contraction requires surgery to remove or replace the implant.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

A breast lift will raise and reshape breasts that have become out of shape because of pregnancy
or time. It is a permanent improvement in breast shape and size. This procedure can be used in
conjunction with
breast implants to increase both firmness and size.

Breasts begin to sag and the areolas become larger as we age or after childbirth.
Anchor incisions follow surgical markings that outline the area of skin to be removed and for nipple re-positioning. The degree of lift needed generally will determine the number and length of the incisions.
The breast is reshaped by bringing the skin together above the nipple. Sutures close the incisions, giving the breast its new contour.

Post surgery, breasts are higher and firmer. Sutures usually located around the areola, below it, and in the crease under the breast. (notice the sutures forming an anchor)
With realistic expectations, women generally find great satisfaction from this procedure.

Benefits of breast lift

Breast lift surgery is effective in lifting and reshaping saggy breasts for both smaller and larger
breasted patients. In some cases, smaller breasts may retain their lift results longer after a breast
lift than larger breasts. This is because the weight of larger breasts works against the changes
made during the plastic surgery.

Best candidates for breast lift

Improving your breast shape can improve self confidence and change how you are perceived by
others. The procedure, however, does not completely change who you are and may not meet
unrealistic expectations. The procedure also does not permanently change the breast shape and
firmness. You may expect the effects of aging and gravity to continue through time. In these cases,
a secondary revision surgery may be required. The best candidates for this cosmetic surgery are
women who are emotionally well-adjusted, have realistic expectations, and a thorough understanding
of the procedure.

Preparation for breast lift

Before you undergo a breast lift, it is important for you to discuss any medical conditions that you
have and to tell your surgeon about any medications that you are taking including any herbal or
other non-prescription ones. If your surgeon decides that you can have a breast lift, discuss the
procedure thoroughly with him or her before deciding if you want to go through with the procedure.
Even though your surgeon says that you may does not mean that you must decide to have a breast lift.
You may still change your mind even after discussing the procedure with your surgeon.

will give you a detailed understanding of the treatment - the extent of surgery, your health evaluation,
your expectations and exactly what parts of the body will be treated. When you are happy with
what has been discussed, and have signed a booking form for the operation, the surgery will be

Your surgeon should be able to answer any questions that you have about a breast lift including
questions about what to expect during and after a breast lift and the complications or problems
that sometimes occur with a breast lift. You may also take information from this website to your

Surgical procedure

The operation is carried out under general anesthetic, and requires an overnight stay. The
procedure may vary, but usually, the excess skin is removed and the nipple is elevated so
it sits higher on the breast mound. The degree of lift needed generally will determine the
number and length of the incisions. The more lift a patient needs, the more likely the patient
will need a lift with more extensive incisions.

Some patients, especially those with relatively small breasts and minimal sagging, may be
modified procedures requiring less extensive incisions.

The anchor incision technique with three incisions is typically used by our surgeons:

  • The first incision is around the areola, extending above it and creating the nipple's new position
  • The second incision runs vertically from the nipple down to the bottom of the breast
  • The third incision runs on the underside of the breast just above the fold under the breast

These incisions create flaps where excess skin will be removed

Excess skin may also be removed as the nipple and areola are moved to a higher location on the
breast. The nipple is normally positioned so that it will be even (vertically) with the lower crease
between the breast and chest. The skin that was previously above the nipple is brought down
around the nipple and sutured together under the breast. The nipple and areola remain connected
to the underlying breast tissue and the associated nerve and blood supply, reducing the chances
of sensation loss.

If a breast implant is combined with the breast lift, it will be placed in a pocket under, partially
under or completely under the pectoral muscle..

Recovery and Post-op care

How bruised, sore, and swollen your breasts are after surgery, depends on individual. You can
expect to wear a surgical bra for several days, or until swelling has subsided. Your surgeon will

The procedure does leave scars, although they'll be covered by your bra or bathing suit.
The scars will heal over time, depending on your health and age.

and during the normal stages of life - pregnancy, weight loss and gain and ageing.
Your surgeon will make every effort to make your scars as inconspicuous as possible.
Still, it's important to remember that breast lift scars may be extensive and permanent.
They often remain lumpy and red for months, then gradually become less obvious,
sometimes eventually fading to thin white lines. Fortunately, the scars can usually be placed
so that you can wear even low-cut tops.

Results may last longer or be enhanced when breast implants are inserted as part of
the procedure.

Preconditions and Risks

We minimize risks and complications by selecting patients carefully and always having the

Breast Reduction

Many women seek breast reduction surgery because of oversized breasts, a condition
that is medically known as breast hypertrophy. Breast hypertrophy typically occurs in
both breasts and happens at puberty or soon afterward. Sometimes the over enlargement
of breasts occurs during pregnancy and then the enlargement persists. Although rare,
the sudden onset of breast enlargement does occur. Often, women decide to do this to
relieve the physical symptoms caused by excessively heavy breasts, including back and
neck pain and skin irritation.

The procedure includes the reduction of breast tissue, fat and skin, to make them
smaller, lighter and firmer. You may also choose to reduce the size of the areola,
the darker skin surrounding the nipple. Surgical incisions are similar to a
breast lift,
except in this procedure, implants may not be necessary.
The breasts take several months to settle and the shape changes slightly as it
assumes a more rounded appearance. The surgical scars will fade over time.

Your surgeon will examine you and advise you what procedure is best in your case,
as well as giving you all the information about the surgery. Please refer to the
information above in Breast enlargement for details about the pre and post procedures.

A breast reduction is often carried out with liposuction to the stomach or hips to
give a more balanced proportion. You can
enquire and receive a quote from us.

Please read the preconditions and risks page before embarking on any surgery.

Benefits of breast reduction

Breast reduction is typically performed to create a more proportional chest
curvature with your overall body shape, and to alleviate problems with
ctivities, health, and clothing. The procedure can also help achieve symmetry
where breasts are not equal in size. The plastic surgeon can change the shape
and firmness of the breasts to create a more aesthetic appeal. Nipple surgery
may also be performed to reduce areola size. In fact, the breast reduction
candidate may require a
breast lift to achieve a fully satisfactory outcome.

Best candidates for breast reduction

The best candidates for breast reduction surgery are well-adjusted women
whose oversized breasts cause health and medical problems, interfere with
routine activities, disrupt sleep, or suffer related self-consciousness issues.

Preparation for breast reduction

Before you undergo breast reduction, it is important for you to discuss any
medical conditions that you have and to tell your surgeon about any medications

Surgical procedure

The operation is carried out under general anesthetic, and requires an overnight

the nipple is elevated so it sits higher on the breast mound.

You will typically be given surgical markings encircling the areola and extending
above the areola to the new location of the nipple. The markings also extend
down vertically below the nipple and horizontally following the natural curve
of the crease beneath your breast. Incisions will be made following these
markings also known as the
anchor incision.

Upon completion of the procedure, stitches remain around the areola and
nipple area, in a vertical line beneath the nipple and horizontally under the
breast. If the breasts were not too overly large, then some surgical techniques
can avoid the horizontal scar altogether.

Recovery and Post-op care

How bruised, sore, and swollen your breasts are after surgery, depends on
