The following is a summary of Jo's results and experience while on her surgery holiday in Sri Lanka.

 

16th June 2007

Well, it's been 10 days since I went back to work, the first few days were hard, I felt tired easily but was determined to fight it, I have been office based just doing remote support, and my co- workers have been very helpful and supportive.



Tummy

My tummy has healed quicker than I imagined, I have removed the dressing and I am now applying Bio Oil twice a day, the scar is clean and infection free, and very neat. My belly button is clean, but I am still numb in a little triangle below my button, my hips are still very swollen and the scar on the edges of each hip are taking a little longer to heal. I wear my body garment all day but at night now I remove it and just wear my corset. I still find it hard to sleep on my side but each night is getting easier but also I have to sit upright on the sofa instead of slouching as any twist or fast stretch can be quite sore. I don't tire so much now, although I am not back to 100% me yet..i would say I am 90%. I am eating healthy and so far have lost about 7lbs, this is also fluid I think but I am eating low fat meals and not skipping meals like I used to, I need my energy.

Legs

My legs are still slightly numb, and the bruising has almost gone, I know it will take a while for the swelling to go down and they are looking better than they were, I can walk fine, but after sitting too long they get stiff, and they feel very tight inside like the fat is all being sucked in, I'm hoping I am happy with the results. If not, I will have more Liposuction next year if I cannot exercise the rest off.


Confidence

Confidence wise, I have a major boost, I'm starting to look better in smaller clothes and my boobs look huge as my waist is soo small and tummy flat (although after a meal it does go bloated) and the girls upstairs in Public Health have called me up twice now to show off my curves and tell them all about it.

Driving

I am back driving already, it feels comfortable so I'm ok with it, although it can be a little tender to turn around and look over my shoulder but I manage ok.


Normal activities

Everything else is back to normal too, although bedroom activities are a bit of a laugh, once you find a comfortable position its all ok, it all works out in the end....and where there's a will there's a way!!

I have included a few pics of the scar and what I look like now, I will try to cover as much as possible, I want to show you the tummy outline, scar and my legs how they look so far ( they are still very swollen tho!!) See pictures here.
