Judith is the twin sister of Janese and
a mother of 2 teenage boys. She had wanted to have a facelift
for many years, and felt the pressure of time after 50.
She felt that she looked much older than she felt. Single
and 50, and always compared with her glamorous twin sister,
Judith finally decided to have facelift surgery in Phuket,
Thailand with the aim to improve her appearance and confidence.
Searching for the best package
Knowing she couldn't afford the surgery
in Australia, Judith started looking around for surgery
options overseas. She liked the idea of complete peace
and privacy. “I choose Thailand because I could
have an adventure with my holiday and I had visited Phuket
Hospital and I was pleased with the quality of the hospital
and doctors." Judith states.
Also, the post-operative care was also
a big factor in her final decision: "To have someone
that does post-operative care was a bonus, I would not
have travelled overseas for surgery without post operative
care." The offer was a great price, and soon her
and her best friend Mary was flying to Phuket to share
a surgery holiday.
Surgery Day
Judith was very nervous in the days leading
up to the surgery, but these nerves disappeared once she
was taken to the hospital - “then I was amazingly
calm." After filling in the paperwork, taking the
tests and preparing for surgery, she was taken to the
operating theatre. "At all times the hospital staff
were really sweet and kind to me, very attentive."
The Road to Recovery
Recovery wasn't initially smooth, and
Judith was vomiting for a couple of days after surgery.
She was collected at the hospital the day after surgery
by Australian management from the Bodyline Retreat and
taken to her villa where she rested and relaxed for the
rest of the week.
It took around 8 days for Judith to feel
like facing the world again, but she made most of the
activitied in the quiet retreat: "I loved all the
quiet activities at the retreat - Thai cooking
classes, an artist came to give painting lessons and just
lying about by the pool."

Judith and Mary also had the company of
other westerners who were going through a similar experience
to her: "I made some very special friends, we laughed
and had good clean fun!"
Judith's new look
A month after the surgery, is Judith happy
with her new look? "Yes, I am over the moon about
the results. I think I have to agree with my girlfriend
that I look like a photo taken 10 years ago when I was
40!"
And was she happy with the decision to
get her surgery in Phuket? "Yes, this whole 3 week
experience has deepened my life because I had such an
enriching journey after my surgery - just being in such
supportive environment. I loved coming home not only looking
10 years younger, but also feeling so enriched and somehow
changed from within, I was looking out of a different
set of eyes."
