Taking matters in my own hands

I had thought about it for a few years before taking the plunge. I hated my jowls and hooded eyes. thought there was no particular reason for my decision, I just decided I was going to do it. I had already checked out the website and liked what I saw at Gorgeous Getaways. As I would be traveling on my own due to my husband's work commitments, I liked the idea of the support of a group and the knowledge that help was a that hand.

There are all these new age-defying lotions and potions, but the reality is that the only thing that really works is surgery. I just wanted to look the best I could for my age. I wasn't paranoid, I didn't have ridiculous expectations. I had consulted a surgeon in NZ but could not justify the cost involved, hence the choice of a surgery holiday.

I chose GG because the website was the most informative, and I liked that you had an office at the Maytower. I was nervous, but got round that by not thinking about the surgery side of things and I told my closest friends.

Dr Nasir was really nice. The Prince Court could not be faulted - the staff were loely, and the food amazing. What more can I say - 20 out of 10!!

I felt relaxed the whole time, my nervousness went after I had spoken to the doctors and been reassured that all was well. When I woke up after surgery, I felt fine, and within an hour had managed to perch my glasses on top of the bandages and could continue to read my book. I was discharged the day after surgery.

Recovery was good, and fast. Very little bruising, and no need for pain killers or sleeping pills. The worst was having to sleep on my back which I don't normally do, so nothing to complain about. I was out shopping the day after discharge, and basically back to normal, all be it hiding behind dark glasses not to frighten the locals!!

Steps towards recovery: Positive thinking and washing my hair and scalp daily.
Had filler in my frown lines after the facelift stitches were removed.

I would recommend anyone to come through GG for whatever procedure they
required. Nothing unusual happened unless you count being attacked by a monkey at the Batu Caves. (My fault, I should have known better than carry a bag of bananas). I was ready to go home, but a bit apprehensive.

I am really pleased with the result. My husband keeps looking at me, smiling and shaking his head, I think he is still a bit amazed at the difference, which is subtle rather than weird. I definitely look younger, my eyes look bigger now that the hooded lids are gone. My friends all wanted to see the changes and at least two are considering having it done. All I can say is that I'm happy and glad that I had it done.

I would advise anyone coming to KL to read a little about the country first, accept that the culture is different, enjoy that and never moan about the differences. My advice would be: be laid back, don't worry as you are in good hands, think positively, don't moan, and enjoy yourself.

Always professional and pleasant
The GG staff were wonderful, and really go out of their way to help. I did feel that some of the "guests" were demanding to the extreme, and although Jasmine and the team handled these situations beautifully I found some of the demands made on the GG staff were demeaning and rude, i.e. "The furniture in this room is all in the wrong place", I want it moved" or "I've broken a glass, you need to get over here to clean it up now" or "Hurry up and get that can opened, I want my soup for my lunch not my dinner" to name just a few of the things the GG staff had to deal with. They were supportive and professional at all times. I would definitely recommend GG to my family and friends, I think my daughter is saving already! Thank you GG!
