The clinic we have partnered with is the leading specialist in laser vision correction in Malaysia - it has been established for nearly 20 years, and is at the forefront in laser vision technology, with a team of experts having worked with laser eye correction for many years. There are 4 different types of laser eye treatment, depending on your needs, the surgeon will select the best option for you. Lasik A suction ring will be placed on your eye. You will feel some pressure on your eye and vision will go dark. A specially designed instrument, microkeratome will create a flap on the cornea. You will hear buzzing sounds as the microkeratome is in use. The doctor will then lift back the flap. Laser will be applied to the cornea. Buzzing sounds will continue and you will smell a faint burnt odor. This is very normal. Afterwards, the corneal surface is cleaned and the flap is replaced without stitches and healing begins. For the first few hours, there is slight discomfort, stinging and watering of the eyes. Just continue to rest with your eyes closed. Intralasik This procedure is identical to LASIK but the flap is created with a separate laser called 'INTRALASE' laser. A suction ring will be placed on your eye and vision will go dark. The laser will take approximately 30 seconds to create the flap. You will then be moved to the second laser (Excimer Laser) and the doctor will then lift the flap. This laser will then be applied to the cornea. Epilasik A suction ring will be placed on your eye. You will feel light pressure and your vision will be blurred. An instrument called Epitome will create an epiflap on the cornea (this is much thinner than the flap in LASIK). The doctor will then lift back the epiflap. After laser ablation, a bandage contact lens will be placed on the cornea to minimize discomfort and to protect the thin epithelium. These lenses will be removed after 4 - 7 days. Lasek An alcohol solution is placed on the corneal surface for 20 - 30 seconds. This loosens the top layer of the skin (epithelium). The epithelial flap is rolled back to expose the corneal bed on which the laser ablation is applied. Bandage contact lenses will be placed on the cornea. This helps healing and minimizes discomfort. Lenses will be removed about 4 - 7 days later. There are 3 types of laser profiles that can treat just about all common reading or driving problems from failing eye sight.Conventional

Suitability for treatment
Preparation Contact lenses distort and dry the cornea, and therefore must be removed prior to treatment. For accuracy in your Eye Examinations, please remove Soft/Disposable/Daily Lenses 10 - 14 days before treatment, and Semi Hard (RGP), Hard/Toric Soft Lenses - minimum 3 to 4 weeks before. As a general rule, the longer the lenses are left out, the better. Treatment day

Results to expect Your vision will gradually improve though it usually takes up to 3 - 6 months for stabilization. It is important to have realistic expectations - Laser Vision Correction does not always create 20/20 vision, however, most patients are able to forgo glasses completely for the first time in their lives.
Your recovery is usually rapid and relatively painless, however, you may experience these symptoms which are entirely normal:
This treatment has to be scheduled around other surgical appointments, so it is important that you book your Lasik treatment at the same time as your other treatments.
