Seven Corners offers the industry's most comprehensive medical tourism insurance, trip cancellation insurance and travel insurance. The overseas medical insurance plan covers someone in their home country and protects them abroad. This international insurance program offers true, global protection for the international community. As a policy holder, Seven Corners offers you:
- Comprehensive world health insurance coverage
- Access to a network of thousands of international doctors and hospitals
- A multi-lingual customer service phone line, available 24/7
- Customized country profiles and travel suggestions before you depart on your trip
- Ongoing travel protection and support during your trip
As with any medical or surgical procedure, there are inherent risks regardless of where your treatment is received. By selecting a medical tour procedure abroad, you have chosen to accept the risk of medical complications without the security of insurance coverage.
It is the first plan of its type to address the unique needs of a Medical Tourist. Specifically, how will complications be paid for - abroad or after the client returns home, and how will the client's financial investment be protected? Bordercross Worldwide provides answers to these questions and more.
Medical Procedure Insurance (for medical tourist/travelers) - Bordercross Policy
- Provides coverage which is either excluded or not found in standard Trip/Travel medical insurance plans
- Up to $50,000 in medical complications coverage, while you are abroad and when you return home
The insurance options have two coverage components. The first component covers standard trip cancellation, interruption, delay and baggage benefits, as well as acute medical conditions, emergency evacuation and 24 hour assistance for the patient and traveling companion, while on the journey. The second component covers the patient for medical complications incurred immediately during the procedure and 60 days thereafter, anywhere in the world, including the patient’s home country and the United States. More details on the Bordercross benefit plan components can be found in the policy here: www.sevencorners.com/forms/BordercrossWorldwideMedicalTourismPlanCertificateofInsurance.pdf
How It Works Everyone listed as a traveling companion of the patient, must purchase the travel insurance component. Only the person(s) receiving treatment must buy the complication insurance component. If two friends are going and both will receive cosmetic treatment, both must purchase the complication component. If two friends are going on the trip and only one is receiving cosmetic treatment, then only the person receiving the treatment must purchase the complication component, the friend just going along for the trip must purchase just the travel insurance component.

Eligible Scheduled Medical Treatment must be performed outside of the United States and provided through a Medical Tour Provider, Hospital and/or Facility. Please note that all Hospitals performing Eligible Scheduled Medical Treatment must be Joint Commission International (JCI) accredited. Medical Expenses as a result of a Covered Complication(s) must be approved and arranged by the Administrator. Covered Complication(s) treated inside of the United States must be performed in an approved United States PPO Facility.
If the treatment is inpatient (24 hours or more of hospitalization) the facility overseas must be JCI accredited. If it is an outpatient treatment, (less than 24 hours in hospital) then the overseas facility is not required to be JCI accredited.
In the case of treatment for a complication after surgery, the insured must utilize one of our PPO hospitals abroad, or our PPO network in the US. Treatment for a complication would not necessarily be in a JCI facility, it would be the facility that we are contracted with and we send the patient to.
